Stats grade, moving, school, work, and christmas

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Oh dear, why oh why has it been so long since i’ve blogged? I need to step it up. *kicks self in the butt*

I’m only at work 19 more minutes, hopefully I can get ready and rolling before it’s time to go. I’m not looking forward to driving home, but I really should get used to it. Speaking of that, we moved this weekend. Yep. Everything is out of our apartment, the keys were turned in, and then we moved all our stuff to my parent’s house. It was a pain, I hate moving with an undying passion. All our furniture is moved and now we have to sort through all the boxes and stuff. Supposedly Mike did a lot today, but I’ll see when I get home. I’m hoping. I just want to sit down and relax a bit.

I got an A on my stats exam, so I have an A for the course. *YAY* Manda is smart. Now once I get my geo and Linux/history grades back I’ll be all set. I’m definitely looking forward to it. I just want the stress of waiting for my GPA to be over with. Ya know? Could be a good time indeed.

I know a couple things I’m getting for Christmas. They’re a ps2, a jansport airlift backpack, chiefs welcome mat and keychain, and my aunt gave me a cell phone charger for my car this morning. My one grandma will send me $50, and I’m sure there are a few surprises up there. I’m looking forward to it. :) I also have to go to Canada Thursday to take my sister to see her boy Corey, that should be interesting I imagine. Maybe Mike and I might chill out there for a bit, we’ll see right?

I’m looking into getting a Columbia winter jacket. Does anyone know where to get a good one that doesn’t cost $150 at? I’ll probably go pay that for one because they’re nice and I need a winter jacket, but … I might as well ask right?

On a web related note, does anyone want to do a link exchange? Let me know, ;)

Mandas no good horrible very bad day

Lisa is always the one who pushes me to update as I sit here at work. I’ve been at work since 12.. but It’s been a rather slow day in general, nothing extremely difficult. I am VERY VERY cold though, they don’t know how to heat this office or cool the other. Damn people, make up your minds. Let me dress for heat or cold. Not one or the other. What is a girl to do when she has to work in BOTH offices. That’s what I thought!

On the school note…I’ve officially declared myself insane. I’m now signed up for 25 credit hours next semester. No more Amanda, I’m not going to modify my schedule anymore than it already is. I’m taking… 8 classes. One is online, 7 are actual ones I have to attend. Fun yes? Not really.

Communication 101 is a basic course, I’ve heard it’s pretty simple and the professor I’m signed up with is decent as well.
Earth Science 2 is the 2nd part of my current course, I’m sure I’ll do fine. Also heard good things about the professor and the labs aren’t really difficult or strenuous, again, no worries.
Sociology 101 is also an intro course, I took it in HS and loved it. I heard it’s easier than psych and I did great in that so again, not worried.
Intro to the internet I’m a computer tech so …. I’ve heard this course is the basics of the ‘net so it’ll be a breeze. Cakewalk, easy A, borderline extremely boring.
US history 2 This one has a couple essays I think, not a lot of fun but it’s getting a requirement out of the way and the professor also has good ratings.
Internet for informatics another intro course on the workings of the internet
Web programming teaches programming for the web to comply with w3c standards and since I have a website, know some CSS and a bit of PHP, and know XHTML… I’ll be fun and think it’s gonna be a lot of fun.
Microcomputer apps 1 I’ve been fighting to get into this one. It’s word/excel/access stuff, hahahahahahahah. Online. Easy A, GPA booster w00t!

You wonder how I fit them all? Easily.. and short days in the broader perspective.

Today is NOT going very well at all. Let’s see.. I supposedly turned my alarm off this morning without even knowing it. Then I slept till 11 which was fine considering I’m working 12-2, 3-6. That wasn’t SO bad. What was though, was when a raindrop fell off the top of my house from the melting snow and hit my eye and then i get in my car and my glasses fall apart, from a RAINDROP. The one piece fell off because the screw came out I’m assuming, so I’ve got a paper clip jammed in there and I look pretty ridiculous. Thanks to Kevin at work for suggesting it. I’d rather look ridiculous and be able to see than not be able to at all.

THEN I’m driving along and there’s ice attached to my wiper. I’m thinking whatever the heater will melt it and my heat isn’t working. It won’t blow hot or cold air, which immediately leads me to believe the fan died on me somehow and I don’t know WHY. It was working when i got my hot pockets from wegman’s last night but why must it be broken NOW, in the middle of WINTER. Let’s just hope daddy can fix it on Saturday or Sunday otherwise I’m gonna be a miserable cookie in the upcoming weeks, I’m too poor for a shop to fix it. :’(

This concludes the first edition of Amanda’s no good very bad horrible day. :’(

Work boys are pooey

It’s been entirely too long since I last updated. Lisa is pushing me to update, yet again. How shocking right? I blog over at surnaturelle a lot but it’s also littered with PPP posts constantly so if they irritate you then don’t visit but.. it’s understandable.

I’m currently working, it’s not very fun. The day has been going by really fast and I’ve been here since 1. I’m stuck here until 10. I’ve only got 3 1/2 hrs left and I have to take a break. So 3 hours of working. Well what’s irritating me right now at work isn’t the customers because they’ve been angels *knocks on wood* but my coworkers. My coworkers like to make wise cracks at me and it’s not very fun… Like, we were talking about what we’re doing when we get home and because I said I was going to go play video games John gave me a callback instead of Joe. Joe had it. I didn’t need to have it. Whatever, it was an easy call but John got a “Well, this is what I get PAID for isn’t it?” Ugh… It’s kinda shallow imo. THEN I was sitting here and we were talking about hours next semester and I was like “Yeah, I’m on for 21 hrs next semester” and he also said “You’re guaranteeing the fastest way out of college, flunking out”. He’s a miserable old Mormon, seriously. He and I have never seen eye to eye really. I’ll be glad when he graduates.

AGH, now that it’s out… I can continue. Moving is still as scheduled. Autumn and Jim met on Friday to sign the lease and she paid the deposit, so that’s all been worked out. *Squeel* We’re moving on either Saturday or Sunday, depending upon when/if we get a truck. We might have to get a u-haul which I’m not looking forward to because it’s like $85 that I don’t have and after taxes, UGH. Oh well though, it’ll be worth it to just be able to move back and get situated. I’ll have my bills on hold I guess, they can wait a bit. Once I’m back home it’ll make things a lot easier financially and right now I’m not worrying. I’m working as much as possible without going crazy and I’m finishing up the semester. It’s all anyone can ask of me. I’m MAKING things work.

I’m also starving. I got up at 11:30 and haven’t had a thing to eat or drink all day and I don’t want to ask for my break until at least 7:15 so… I don’t get my turkey/cheese sandwiches with my cream soda that Mike made for my lunch just yet. Pooey.

edit: switched up the layout.
