New Job & Financial Goals
Everytime I try to sit here and make an entry I stare and stare at the white box thinking of what to say because whereas things are happening I’m never sure on how to phrase or what to say about what situation. Did that make any sense? Thought not.
Well in the world of finances things should be looking up. I got a second job working as a grocery store cashier at a place about 3-4 miles away instead of 35. I should get between 25-35 hours/week there which will supplement my 10 or so that I’ll get at the helpdesk during the summer. Right now we’ve got it set that Tues/Th are help desk days and every other day is open for the store so a day off will be few and far between but I’m going to try to get something arranged. Right now catching up on bills is worth taking the extra load on for awhile. It beats Six Flags by far because it’s smaller so a tighter knit group of people, no piercing policy (so I can keep both my eyebrow AND tongue piercings), and it’s air conditioned so I won’t have issues from being in the sun for so long.
My goals (financially) for this summer are as follows…
- Pay off 3/5 credit cards, the 3 with the lowest limits. That will take my debt down from $2650 (give or take about $100) down to $2000 and $1600 is on one card. Then I’ll keep those higher two (while paying them off) for REAL emergencies
- Begin a savings account and get at least $500 for, again, emergencies so I can avoid the stresses I face when random problems occur
I think they’re highly realistic goals indeed. I’ve got 15 minutes left of work so I’m going to jet but before I do I have to mention that Randy has court next month which will tell us how much longer he’s in the halfway house and if he has to do supportive living (the longest he can be in these places is up till September, so we’re hoping for early release) and then we’re going to move from there and save up to get an apartment. It will most likely be in Buffalo or the surrounding areas (but this time we’ll have a savings account and a reliable person)
