Another week gone by
It’s been another week where I didn’t write, woops. I just have been busy and the internet is rather low on my list of priorities at the moment especially with all that I’ve been doing/juggling.
I’ve been working lately, a lot at that. I’m nearly full time with between 37-40 hours every week. Last week I did 39.5 and this week 38 so it’s hard to find time to be online as much as I used to be. I also get asked to work a lot of extra because for some reason people who work there are beyond irresponsible and think that quitting with no notice or phone call is acceptable. Then we all have to deal with the slack of being short staffed and filling in those hours during the week so that we avoid the same problems every day that week. It’s a small town grocery store and at any given time we’ve got usually 1-3 cashiers and sometimes when we’ve got 2 and one doesn’t show we’ve got to find a way to get breaks in as well as another cashier in case the line gets long. I get irritated very easily over this and as a result last week picked up 8 hours and this week an extra 3 I think. My usual shift is 7-4 and occasionally 9-5 which is nice, I don’t like working nights/evenings. I’m also up at the service counter a lot more. It makes me uneasy though b/c I don’t know how to do everything and there’s a LOT to know/remember. Hopefully I pick up a bit more on everything soon enough though, before I get complete shifts up there. Oh, and on a school related note I made the Dean’s list for the previous semester. ^_^
My title was issued on Wednesday or Tuesday, one of the two days. Once I get it and mail it off to progressive they’re going to pay part of the loan and then I can go to KIPO and cancel the warranty, refund M&T THAT money, then use the gap coverage to finalize that it’ll be paid off. I’m probably going to get another car from them b/c right now it’s the best bet but I cringe at having another car payment, ick. My insurance is also going to go up, not something I need after paying $2100 for 6 months as it is. *sigh* I’ll find a way though, I ALWAYS do don’t I? I’m looking into another focus probably, I really liked and miss mine. It handled like a charm and the fuel mileage was decent. Now that I’m not going to the falls everyday (Randy’s out in approximately 2 weeks) it won’t make such a dent in my pocket for gas.
Speaking of which, his release date is set for July 1st and he has court on the 2nd to be sentanced since it got postponed yet AGAIN. I have a feeling he’s going to get probation and mandated supportive living. I can hope, I don’t want to see him go back to jail. I’ll have a nervous breakdown if he does. My way of thinking is this though, if they wanted him in jail they’d have kept him there and not let him out for this program. He hasn’t messed up (give or take a few minor violations of house rules) and has been doing as he’s told. I guess I’ll just cross my fingers and hope for the best. I have court myself Tuesday night for my traffic ticket from the accident (since it’s rear ending it was apparently “my fault” but the officer told me to plead not guilty) and maybe it’ll get knocked down to a non moving violation if I get anything at all.
Pat (Randy’s brother, who lives with me for reference) was in pain on Wednesday when I got home. Laying on the floor in massive pain. He sucked it up to his acid reflux and kept going, since I slept all day wednesday i paid no mind. He called my mom and his mom asking to be taken to the ER yesterday (and he’s a tough guy, so seeing him in tears means something) and I guess all they had to do was feel his side and then they called in the surgeon because his appendix was so enlarged. They removed it and he’s on his way home now actually. His white blood cell count was dangerously low and if he’d have waited he may not have recovered so quickly, so I’m glad he’s doing better. I can’t wait to see him, I miss my roomie!
Well I’m going to go for now. Probably clean up a bit, grab some lunch, then play starcraft and enjoy my day off. I work 7-4 tomorrow and then Randy’s coming home on Sunday and we’re going to the carnival here. I can’t wait. Good food and the ever so addictive “I got it” game. Wahoo! Loads of fun. :-p
