House M.D., an incredibly addictive but predictable show
I’m an avid watcher of the show House M.D, featuring the ever so sarcastic Dr. Gregory House himself. I never really get into television too much (especially ones airing once a week) but I decided to give house a shot and have been hooked ever since.
I really think it’s the whole attitude and humor that lies underneath every episode that draws me in. He’s so blunt and “out there” to everyone from patients to his coworkers. His humor is very adult at times but there hasn’t been a single episode where I haven’t laughed at least twice at something he has done or said, especially with his boss Cuddy because the tension between them is blatantly obvious.
One of the only things I really dislike is that it’s predictable. Start the episode with an injury of sorts, House is assigned the case (often after much arguing), House also does clinic duty with much complaining. Then the team is assigned the case, they run tests and think they’ve got a diagnosis for the patient which usually ends up wrong and makes them worse along with a plethora of new symptoms showing up. Then House comes up with the real problem using very discreet and un-obvious clues he’s thought up or discovered breaking into their house (actually he sends his team out to do it). Then the patient goes home and everything is all good again.
Regardless I can’t get enough of it. I’ve got seasons 1-3 on DVD and am on Episode 6 of season 2 already and only began a week or so ago watching them all from beginning to end. Check it out, even for one episode and maybe you’ll become a House addict like many of us already have.
