Dyson Vacuums

I’ve been around the block and back when it comes to vacuum cleaners. I can’t remember the last time we’ve had a decent one, it seems every time I turn around there’s a problem either with the belt or something else. I’m really looking forward to the day when I can buy a nice Dyson because I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about them. All I’ve heard is that they work phenomenally and last forever as well. They also have replaceable vacuum cleaner parts so if something breaks, which is rare. They also have different styles from upright to cylinder to even hand held if your needs are suited for that.

There are also a variety of accessories that can be bought, also featured on the website, to enhance the productivity and create a better ease of use product. The vacuums also feature car cleaning kits which are worth over 40 pounds. Not a bad deal at all. There is also a really nice section which caters to the different needs of people from those with allergies, to pets, to portability and storage. They are also offering free shipping on orders over 25 pounds as well, which is a deal considering vacuums are somewhat heavy and shipping costs could push the cost up a tad. I’d definitely recommend viewing the website to get knowledge about the product and you may even convince yourself to buy one.

Real Estate in the NYC area

Unfortunately for me I’m not in any place to buy a house anytime soon. I’m still living with my parents looking for a minimum wage job to pay simple bills, let alone a mortgage and everything that comes along with it like interest and property taxes.

However, some people are in a comfortable position to be able to look for that dream home that they can’t wait to buy and make their own. Some people prefer to go through private agents but others may feel more comfortable to a well known company. If you’re a buyer looking for a house out in the New York City area then North Fork real estate is a company that you ought to look into. They have over 60 offices and they serve 350 communities. They also service Long Island and the Hamptons.

Attic progress = almost nil

My day wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t throw in a minor update on how my move into the dingy dark dusty attic scheduled for this weekend, most likely on Sunday actually provided everything goes as planned.

We made no progress whatsoever today. Considering we’re having issues breathing as it is we figured it’d be best not to venture up there until we’ve got the area secluded. Dad has 4 or 5 old blankets in the garage that mom just tossed and we’re going to nail those up to the sides (since they slope inward) to block off the majority of the dust. It was supposed to be our project today but as you see, plans got changed. Then we may try and get some paneling to block off the ceiling, there are a bunch of nails sticking out where the house was constructed (But we’re fine since we’re not 7-8 feet tall). I’m excited to be up there because it will be a bit more secluded and cooler. It’s SO hot in this room and we can’t get any relief when plastic is on every single window. Up there all the windows are blocked but 2 entire walls aren’t covered with the heaters (and we can’t control the heat in here since it’s technically part of the other apartment).

Calling loved ones during the holidays

Posted in Uncategorized by Manda | No Comments »

I am personally fortunate to have most of my family in the general area where I live, give or take a few miles. I have some relatives in West Virginia but otherwise everyone is in a 40 mile radius at most and most are within 15. Unfortunately for some people, they’ve got their family in other countries either due to personal living choices or even military obligations as their loved ones fight for our country during the holiday season.

One way to brighten up the holidays a bit is to call on the holiday to wish them a happy thanksgiving or a Merry Christmas. It may even help to just call out of the blue and let them know you love them and are thinking of them. It can also be rather pricey to call overseas so it’s handy to find a good website that offers affordable calling cards. I found a website which not only offers calling cards internationally but provides a 3% cash back program where you get 3% back of every purchase you make with calling cards. That 3% can add up to allow someone to give that extra call during a time of need when it just may be a bad day and the voice of a loved one is just the medicine needed to cheer them up.

Thanksgiving Thanks

It’s typical to hear what everyone is thankful for during the time surrounding Thanksgiving because that is the spirit of the holiday. I’m personally thankful that I have a family who loves me, a warm place to sleep at night, food, the comfort of having all my luxuries like computers, television, etc.., being relatively healthy besides the occasional cold, and being able to say that I am thankful without thinking of all the negative things in my life.

It’s somewhat ironic considering my last post was all about how I feel like dirt but we all know it’s a minor annoyance that will soon pass and life will resume as normal provided I get rest and some vitamin C in me without overdoing anything. I definitely can’t complain when I look at how I’m living and compare it to the many unfortunate people in the world who can’t say that they are thankful because the situations they or their loved ones are in are less than ideal.
