America’s oldest city, St. Augustine, Florida Artwalk
I’m a small town girl so I’m used to being content while I sit at my house surfing the internet, watching television, and socializing with just friends and family without doing anything too entirely interesting. A night out consists of friends going out to go to a restaurant and talking. Not really too enticing for people who are from larger cities and are used to experiencing a multitude of entertainment options from sports games to parties to cultural festivities. You don’t see that in small towns like mine. However, when on vacation it’s possible to visit cities which have culture and arts as their crutch to appeal to tourists and locals.
One of these cities is St Augustine in Northern Florida. They feature a festivity at their First Friday Weekend Art Walk which obviously occurs on the first Friday of every month and focuses on both art and music. Art is not just painting in a museum though, so don’t let that fool you. It features all sorts of artistic expressions from painting to photography to music and architecture. I think I’d be likely to check out the various types of photography since that’s always been an area that interests me. They also offer free parking and a trolley tour as well for free so if you’re on vacation and decide to get into some interesting art and culture festivities check out the St. Augustine Artwalk.
