Uproar over tolls
There has been a HUGE issue with the decision to increase tolls on the NYS thruway which extends over 400 miles. It was supposed to be a toll collecting highway until the cost was paid off, which I believe was accomplished in the late 1990’s but here it is 2007 and the tolls are still present and even on the incredible rise. However, they’ve also got tolls on the Grand Island overpass which is obviously an ISLAND and there are fees to cross. People who live on the island have to pay to get off of it, it’s NOT a huge one. I can cross from one section to the other in roughly 3-5 minutes maximum. I really think they need to eliminate these tolls, it’s not fair for people who needs to go somewhere to have to pay an unnecessary fee. I hope it works out, I had to pay $.75 to cross the bridge each way every time I went to see Randy which was approximately 3-5 times a week. That money adds up REALLY fast. (Not to mention to get there I also had to pay $.75.

I’m not a fan of all these tolls either. But I just figure there is nothing I can do abotu it.
