I love my digital camera, don’t get me wrong. I can take casual photos with my friends and family and toss my camera in a purse or bag without worrying about it being ruined since it was a simple Point and Shoot. It doesn’t take video, picture quality is crap in comparison to some of my friend’s cameras, but it does the job for now. I also go through batteries like crazy even when I use lithiums because they drain so fast. I like to take pictures of myself to try and get a nice shot that depicts me in a way I can look at and say “Hey, I look nice” and not depend on just one shot. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t LOVE to have a DSLR to begin experimenting and get some pretty amazing pictures in the process. I’ve seen what they can produce and I’m amazed at the quality.

If I were to get a camera right now I’d choose one of the Nikon’s because I’ve heard so many good things about them and seen what they produce when used correctly. They’ve also gotten me interested when I’ve seen all the lenses and how switching out can modify one of the pictures by a tremendous amount. A lot of people pair the cameras with a
digital picture frame or two because it can cycle through all the shots they’ve taken and not get bored with looking at the same picture constantly.
