I’ve proven time and time again that people fail me and the only person I can rely on is me. However, I still count on people not to let me down and keep their plans and words. This weekend was another incident of Randy’s mom “I can’t afford it/I have to work” on Friday night. Of course, wait until last minute like ALWAYS. UGH!! So of course I had to cry a bit and wonder how I was going to make the trip because Amanda never fails at visiting him, I haven’t let him down once and I don’t intend to. His mom, dad, Heather, and Pat all have let him down enough to last his lifetime.

So I pulled the $45 sitting in my paypal account and mom let me use her car to go to the lovely facility 86 miles away. $20 for gas, $5 for tolls, $20 for vending machine costs (drinks, snacks, food (they have the cold machines there). Lucky me left at 6:30 to clear weather and at 6:45 as I’m cruising down the thruway a blizzard hits. People goings 20-30 on a 65mph highway, semis pulled over, 4 ways on all over. That stretch was about 25 miles. I pulled to the next section and you’d have never known that it snowed. I drove like a bat out of hell so I could beat the storm to Brocton, good thing I did because 20 minutes after I arrived it did as well.

Got there at 8:20, called in the visiting area at 9:40, he didn’t come out until 10:10. I swear, I’m SO going to beat the bus there next time so I can be in at 9-9:15. I lost out on almost an hour, argh! Anyways, we had a nice conversation regarding us, strength in relationships, our future and what we expect of one another, and Dillion as well. Very good talk, I had a great time as always. He left me with a hickey and a “I love you and will see you next week” :) Every time we talk I am convinced more and more that he is the absolute perfect guy for me. No doubt in my mind that every day of hardship is worth it. He is worth it.

On a completely unrelated note, if you own your own home it might be useful to look into some new plumbing fixtures. Sure it’s just a bathroom but everyone likes a personal touch to their homes and you can do it with everything from the curtains to the rugs. Why not do it with your plumbing fixtures too? Personal style is what makes your home yours.
