Day with the family

Well today we all (family) went to see my grandmother that lives an hour and a half away. (Dad’s mom) I haven’t seen her in 2-3 years. It was a good day, we all got up and ate breakfast and then went up. It was a peaceful trip. We visited, then picked up KFC for a lunch/dinner deal, talked some more. I did plastic canvas and managed to finish the top of the Harry Potter tissue box that I am doing. My grandmother also gave me some yarn so that’s a few more colors I’m not going to have to buy. :) On the way back home we all stopped for ice cream, it felt WEIRD to go out as a family I’ll tell you that much. I have a few pictures on my flickr (hit up the sidebar) if you care to see them.

Randy and I had it out last night a bit over the excessive phone calls. This situation is stressing both of us out but there are no ifs/ands/buts about it, we’ve gotta make it through and we will. 243 days left. I can’t wait until he’s back here. He did tell me that he talked to the parole board today for an address for where he’d be released to and he gave them mine, so soon enough they’ll be calling here. EEK! Things like that make me nervous. He also signed up for football and to be a porter, both ways he can make a bit of money. (It’s like $.20/day so it’s practically slave labor but he’s earning something and it’s fulfilling to him. Whatever works).

One thing is for sure though, he’s living in a completely different world there and some of the things he sees like police tactical boots and the like are not going to be welcome sights when he comes home. We want nothing to do with any of it.
