I’m going to have to see a doctor

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I do not feel good at all right now. I know I’ve been saying this all week long but I was in phases. I’d get better for a bit and then crash and burn again waking up to not being able to breathe and having massive issues with sinus congestion. I’m still blowing my nose like crazy and it’s not coming out to be very pretty. I promised Randy I’d go to a doctor on Monday since it’s going on 3 weeks that I’ve been sick now. I thought it would’ve gotten better by now but obviously it’s not and I probably need to get some antibiotics to help me get over this bout of “Let’s knock Amanda on the ground for almost the whole month”. On another note I’m sick of the kids complaining that they have nothing to do. It’s nice out, go outside and play or something. We have 3 gaming systems and computers along with board games and all of that. The technology available with the aid of satellite communications gives endless possibilities of things to do compared to back when the only thing was to go outside and play hide-and-seek or use the old school super Nintendo system which wasn’t as entertaining as computers and the like. It’s not hard to find something to do with all of this but that’s the way kids are I guess.

Getting the enV2 this week.. most likely

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I’m getting a new phone on Friday probably since Verizon is refusing to re-open his account until he gets out which is obviously November. My mom is adding me to her plan and since it’s a new line I’m eligible for the reduced pricing so I think I’m going to get the env2 since I’ve heard some pretty good things about it and it’s slimmer. I might as well go newer you know? I’m tempted to look into maybe getting internet satellite as well so that I have access to the net 24/7 since I’m such an addict. It’s alright though, I like my life for the most part.

My jimmy is a work in progress

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I mentioned that my dad is obsessed with his gardening. Well that is his Sunday project and so is mowing the lawn since we had a butt load of rain this week he’s really going to be keeping himself busy. Unfortunately we had a nice few days at the beginning of the month which gave us the impression that we could plant a few things so we started our indoor greenhouse and the weather went WAY down. It was nearly freezing actually. If we would’ve been able to use grow lights our lettuce and a few other plants wouldn’t have died like that but I guess we can replant. I gave him another project though. I asked him to check out the jimmy so I can get it back on the road. I want him to look and see what exactly I need to get it going again so we have a secondary vehicle if gods forbid something happens to mom’s car. I’ve also previously mentioned that to visit Randy we have to find transportation for my brother to get to work. I think it needs a hood, 2 doors, and a speed sensor to pass inspection. That’s not insanely expensive. It could also use a gas tank and the fenders need to be replaced but it can be a work in progress. As long as it’s drivable that is all I really care about.

Getting him home in November

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I know I just blogged about him coming home in November but at times I’m extremely paranoid that he won’t because he has to make parole to come home and you never know what the board will say. I mean everyone from COs to his counselor and even the parole officer said there is no reason he shouldn’t make it. It’s his first felony and it’s the lowest class possible and nonviolent. He hasn’t gotten any tickets in prison and has done all his programs required and then some. Not to mention he’s got 5 or 6 support letters coming in from me, my family, and friends to show that he’s coming home to something stable. I also am going to sign him up for alcohol and substance treatment if possible. He goes to the board in July but we cannot be sure of when exactly. Usually it’s around the middle of the month and you find out their decision a few days later. I’ll be jumping like a hawk when that phone rings and checking the DOC site like 10 times a day to see what the results are. I honestly hope the parole members that look at his case and don’t make him stay longer just to be hard on him. You never know though, you get some who could actually care and maybe a few who are just like whatever and itching to get home to their leisure activities, put on their golf caps and not even care that they could’ve just impacted someone’s life tremendously. He’s learned his lesson and served his time. He’s young, let him out to do something with his life and be a contributing member of society instead of a drain which is what prisoners are being that they can’t really do anything else in there. I have no idea what I’m going to do if they say he’s got to CR (Nov of ’09) which is the longest that they would keep him. Let’s just try and stay optimistic and hope that doesn’t happen. If he does get hit it’s not without a fight and we know we did everything possible to get him home where he belongs.

Finally get to go and see him!

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Well I’m writing this from work and am going to post when I get home. It’s 12:31am and I have 6 and a half hours left until I can go home and take an Ambien and hopefully sleep a full rested 8 hours. I’m praying and hoping it works. Since my insurance isn’t doing full coverage for a month when I go back in June I’m going to see if I can go on a combination sedative/antidepressant so that I don’t have to deal with this anymore. I know Randy was on trazadone and he liked it’s effects especially for sleeping so I’m going to mention it. I looked at my schedule and I have Thursday and Friday night off which means… you guessed it. I am going to see him Saturday! Finally, after a full month apart. It’s going to be absolutely amazing to just hug and kiss him. I really wish I could be surfing the internet from work right now though something like receiving a signal from a mobile satellite. I’d be a bit more entertained than I am right now but for the most part I try to keep a nice supply of games or reading material on my laptop for my boring nights at work like Fridays when everyone has already checked in. Ah well, I can’t complain. I actually do like my job a lot.
