Changes all around

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Changes are all around here. Changes to the house, changes to my weight, changes with animals coming in, jobs… I like change sometimes. I’m REALLY liking the change in weight though. It’s making my self image a lot better knowing that I’m not in the 280’s anymore and it’s continuously dropping with minimal effort. I just stopped eating out of boredom. I also only eat when my stomach growls, not just because something LOOKS good in the fridge. It’s helping a lot. I haven’t modified my pop drinking yet but that will come with time. I’m working on cutting down on it. The only thing I worry about (which isn’t even really a concern right now) is losing all this weight and then gaining when I eventually get pregnant. It would feel like all that work was lost. I’ll worry about all of that in the future though. There a lot more concerns when a baby is here anyways like having all their needs from bassinets to cribs, playpens, bottles, car seat, swings, formula, etc.. I’ve still got at least 2 years before that will be on my priority list if everything goes as planned though. ;)

Heat, ugh!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’m not dealing with this heat well at all. It’s only 80 degrees and I’m ROASTING right now. Tomorrow it’s going to be 92. 92! That’s absurd for around here. I dread how hot the rest of summer is going to be. Mom brought in the air conditioner (Well, dad and I did on her request) and hopefully he installs it tonight. I’m hoping to buy one for my bedroom maybe next week because I won’t be able to sleep in this heat. Blaaaaah. This is exactly why I’m glad that I will be working nights. I don’t have to work in the heat. We’re hoping to get a pool and have it set up soon. If we set it up where we’re thinking about setting it up I’d be in it all the time because it’s sunny without any trees around. I could get a nice tan too. Hopefully I won’t get any funky tan lines like I did two summers ago. It happens with jewelry like men’s wedding bands and glasses. I know because I looked like a raccoon for my senior pictures. How dorky.

Irritated inmates ftw

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’m dealing with a very irritated inmate right now. He’s pissy over court regarding Dillion and him not being his child so he’s just overall a cranky person and I’m dealing with the brunt of it. I guess it’s justified because he has to deal with me and my mood swings all the freakin’ time, it’s occasionally good for him to be able to vent. He is irritated at the concept of having to pay child support and buy things like baby bassinets for a child who isn’t his. It’s incredibly irritating and stressful from all angles in this situation so I hope we can get it resolved somewhat shortly, like this upcoming court date. Talk about a lot of baggage… and none of it is even mine!

Special work treatment

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I found out why I had to work last night. The president and CEO of the company I work for were coming in and of course we cater to their every whim. So we had 3 of us working for one check in. I can’t complain, I got hours and it was a quick and simple process of opening the gate. They were late due to delayed flights since they came from Jacksonville, FL. Morgan made me laugh by commenting on why they were apologizing, it’s THEIR hotel but at least they’re polite and not power trippy. They were supposed to be here at 1 but didn’t get in until almost 4. That’s alright though, we worked all 8 hours no matter what time they decided to make their appearances. I don’t know if they’re too enthused about coming from FL to NY since I don’t think there’s much to offer here especially in comparison to staying somewhere like the St. Thomas villa rentals. Our hotel isn’t that bad though. It looks very cabin like on the inside and our rooms are decent. We also provided them with alcohol and snacks in their rooms for their arrival. Special treatment much? Just a bit ;)
