User website reviews

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Word of mouth is how a lot of sites get their exposure, or should I say word of instant messaging and forums is it? That’s where I hear about a lot of the sites I visit. You can read up on pretty much ANY site on the WWW by going to a site that focuses on User Website Reviews to give your opinion or read about what other people think of sites. Your site might be on there too!

Gamehouse Games are entertainment

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I have been playing games incessantly on gamehouse lately. They literally have HUNDREDS of different games to play that are so incredibly simple but at the same time can be so entertaining and kill hours of time, especially at work. I got a bunch of trials going on and out of the 60 or so I’ve downloaded I’ve probably only played about 10 of them. They make the games like diner dash, sally’s salon, and legend of aladdin. They also have monopoly, Yahtzee, and clue if you like some more variation. I look forward to playing some more tonight. Maybe I’ll make it through the A’s and onto the B’s tonight. I certainly have a few more days of work ahead of me so let’s see. I’ll be back with reviews maybe weekly on my favorites. Stay tuned!

New place, new environment

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

One thing I was really nervous about when I went to school at UB was moving to a completely different area. I didn’t know where anything was, what kind of area it was in terms of safety or cleanliness, or even what kind of people I was going to be living around. I’ve never been very adaptable to change which can be quite a negative thing in the large scheme of things. I could imagine that it’d be difficult for people who travel a lot for business to constantly adjust to the new environments all the time. One way that can be eased is by looking into executive corporate apartments which are found and customized by National Corporate Housing. They make the transition a lot smoother and weed out apartments and dwellings that aren’t suitable to every individual.

Wedding plans a little more underway

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I’ve decided that for the next 2 weeks *excluding this week* any money that I make from paid blogging is going to be sitting in my paypal account to be applied to my wedding. The only things that need to be bought are food, dress, and rings because the fire hall is free to rent. My family is actually going to cover the majority of the food for us and my aunt knows someone to do the wedding cake. My uncle has a whole DJ setup that he can use for the music we’ll just use my laptop plugged into it or something like that if we have to. Mainly I just want to be able to get my dress (about 175) and my ring which is roughly (250) and it’s perfectly feasible with as much as I’ve been working combined with the blogging. I want them both ordered by the end of August so that we’ve got almost 4 months to get them and ensure everything is all set. I’ll show pictures once I actually have the items, though the ring is posted on Flickr if anyone really wants to go take a peek at it. EEEK. I can’t believe that in less than 1/2 a year I’m going to be Amanda Marie Rumble. I never thought I’d be married so soon in life but I’m definitely looking forward to it. :)

Bills IQ

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Every Thursday evening or Friday morning I try to compile in my head a list of things that need to be done on payday and where all my money needs to be allocated. I have a ton of behind bills due to not working for 4 months. I got a settlement offer on one today for $210 on a $535 balance so I think I’m going to suck it up and pay it so that I’ll be all set with that one. I can do a little at a time, right? Don’t want to overwhelm myself.

Just for kicks I went and took a quiz to get my BillsIQ and I’m honestly not surprised. I got a 77% aka a C. A lot of it didn’t apply because I don’t have a steady job to start investing for retirement or life insurance but my bills need to be caught up like I said I already know that. Right now I’ll admit I’m not paying as much as I COULD be but I’m also not sinking further into debt either. I’m slowly digging out. I’d like to avoid getting overly stressed about anything because then i’ll just make myself miserable and god knows there is enough going on in life to stress about without adding to any of it. You could go and take yours as well just to see where you stand. They’ve also got some nice tips if you’re looking for a bit of advice on your financial situation.
