So what can’t you live without?

I’ve read a few threads on message boards asking this question but I want to get a bit more personal with my readers. What are a few programs that you cannot live without and when you get a new computer/format you immediately HAVE to put back in? My list might get long. Let’s see what exactly I come up with.

  • Firefox - web browser
  • Thunderbird - Email client
  • Itunes - music player
  • VLC media player - plays videos of ALL types. I haven’t come across something it doesn’t play and you don’t have to bother with codecs
  • Edit pad pro - Notepad x10000 better
  • MS word
  • Winrar. So much better than winzip
  • Acrobat for document reading
  • Pidgin. No more installing 3 different IM clients
  • Daemon tools
  • DVD fab for DVD ripping
  • Nero for burning
  • Photoshop
  • Utorrent

    That’s so funny, your list looks just like what Marcus would swear by to have on every computer, even mine! haha I absolutely LOVE pidgin btw! You are the first person I’ve seen who uses it!

    Do you have a program to convert documents to PDF? It might not be something you use all the time but it comes in handy sometimes when things are not printing well because of frames or what not. I use PrimoPDF. I found it on Cnet a couple months ago. I absolutely love it!
