Well I finished my first building in the village set. I have a church, general store, log cabin, small house, brick house, and a ski lodge altogether. The church, yard, and fence are complete. Unfortunately for you guys, no one is getting to see any of it until all of it is done. That means all buildings, yards, and the accessories I’m putting into it. I will have it done by November though which is my goal so it can be on display all of the Christmas season. With working nights and getting to do it I’ll be done before summer is over most likely. It’s a nice addition to the house I think. It’s a start, we could also use some more ceiling fans, working outlets, and bathroom fixtures as well. It’s an old house and needs a lot of work but that’s alright. We survive.

I went shopping today and spent WAYYYYYYY too much money for my own good that I probably shouldn’t have. I got some canvas, needles (4), hot glue gun, glue sticks, 3 skeins of yarn I needed, an exacto knife, black ink for our printer so I can mail out the divorce and parole information, an envelope for that, printer paper, a pair of PJ pants on clearance, tissues, 2 picture frames, annnnnd some code red mountain dew. I spent like $60 total. Bah! I can now finish up the majority of my Christmas village. My church is I’d say 85% complete and I need to glue a few things right now and finish the yard and fence up before i start the general store which is quite a bit bigger. I’m so excited to get back into this though!

I have done a lot of my canvasing as of last night. I managed to complete all 4 walls of my church and overcasted the top. Tonight I’ll be attaching the bottom, roof, and maybe finishing up the steeple and fence. I’d like to have it done sometime next week so I can begin my next project. The cabin will probably be the one. No one is going to see the village until it’s all done so it’s going o be a couple months. ;) I need to get some more yarn though and I have to search around to find the best buy that will also have all the colors that I need. It’s been a royal pain without having a huge craft store around. I need to get a hot glue gun, more needles, and more canvas itself as well. It’s all cheap stuff though so I’ll probably do that on Friday afternoon. I’ve got plenty of time to canvas though, I work wednesday through Saturday next week. YAY money!

Whew! I have my box 80% complete now. I put 3 of the sides together last night after attaching one that was upside down, taking it apart, and re attaching and I’m about 75% done with Ravenclaw. Once that is finished I attach it to the sides, add the top, and voila! I can’t wait to show it off. I’ll show it either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how my motivation goes. At times, like at my grandma’s last week I get into it a lot and do a crap load and sometimes it takes a few days where I just don’t get the motivation.

Speaking of my grandmother, I’m really beginning to worry about her. My dad is going to be 53 in June and I’m guessing she’s close to 75. She just had open heart surgery, she’s not overweight, and she is now on oxygen which we didn’t find out until we visited her. My dad was obviously upset, I mean my grandfather died 2 months after I was born so it’s been awhile. She got out of breath while she was off of her oxygen to walk from the truck into the house and she was severely out of breath. If she had a portable oxygen concentrator she might be able to keep her oxygen going 24/7 because she could carry it herself. Unfortunately she’s got one of those really heavy systems she has to cart around. :(

My plans for today entail finishing this box, watching road trip, and then more TV tonight? All I know for sure though is that we’re at 234 days until his release… :) Each day down is another day closer.

Well the phone just rang on me and guess who it was? Randy! He talked to his counselor this morning and mentioned the block on the phone and he made a quick phone call and voila! I can talk to him again. So GTL can go take a hike. I guess the prison is switching the phone system that they use to a completely different company anyways. So that’s a positive spin on my day. He’s going to be calling once a day before bed so we can still talk but keep the costs down. He also got a job working in the mess hall, 8 hours a day. Do you know in prison they make $.25/HOUR? That’s disgusting. It really is. But he’s gotta do something to keep himself occupied and he can earn a bit of money.

I also called Rose at the hotel to keep her updated on what is going on with HR about me starting work. Apparently I need to wait to receive a packet from the department to do drug/alcohol testing. It’s been a week already, It’s frustrating. I want to start working. My brother has an interview at 3:30 today, he’s going to do ticket taking. It’s a huge job maker here, the amusement park. They stimulate the economy in the summer because tourists come and that whole shebang.

My canvasing is at a halt right now. I just haven’t felt up to it but my tote looks like I’ve gone on a yarn collecting spree. You can collect pretty much anything though that can also be used, like the spring airsoft gun. You can either collect a bunch of them for display or actually use them for their intended purpose. I don’t think I’d want to spend money on something only to display it. It seems silly to me but my uncle does it with expensive guns, people do with cars, why not? I’ll just continue to buy things I’m going to actually use.
