Naked Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Recently I was selected to try a sample of shampoo and conditioner from a brand that I had never heard of on or offline, naked naturals. I received the sample 2 days ago and decided to give it a try tonight. The product boasts that it makes hair up to 7x stronger, is made with all natural ingredients, and specifies that it is for color treated hair in the Awapuhi & Lavender scent.

I opened the natural shampoo and decided to give it a sniff before trying it. It’s noticeable but not overpowering like many shampoo and conditioner brands are that make you crinkle your nose and go “eww, too strong”. Good point there. I noticed that when applied in my hair it wasn’t as sudsy as I’m used to but I don’t think that has any impact on the effectiveness of it. Afterwards, obviously conditioner. Same as the shampoo for scent and feeling. It didn’t give me a greasy feel to my hair, which is obviously always a good thing. My typical routine is to towel dry my hair until damp and then throw it up in a ponytail because it is very snarly when wet. I decided to try brushing it out a bit afterwards and I saw that it wasn’t as snarled or hard to brush. Perhaps the natural ingredients helped a bit?

Currently it’s damp and I can smell the aroma, it’s very pleasing. Unfortunately since I have longer hair I only had enough for one application but I’ll update again after my hair dries and I can see how it feels in the next day or two before I shower again. ;)

Update: Well it’s the next day. My hair smells good, isn’t snarled, and has a nice texture to it still. The only complaint I have is that it’s not.. smooth or soft enough for my liking. Perhaps use of extra conditioning or more applications would fix it? I’d definitely be willing to buy a bottle to see what it can do for me.
